Search Engine Optimization !

Search Engine Optimization and backlinking are  normal terms if you’ve ever read or studied SEO. If you are new to Search Engine Optimization, and are not sure what Search Engine Optimization is, then here is a simple definition. Search Engine Optimization is the art of optimizing your content so that Google and the other search engines will rank your site/blog better.

Backlinking has also become  important in the scope of Search Engine Optimization, and has become an important part of good SEO.
In this article, we will teach you what good Search Engine Optimization is and why links are so important to the search engines.  Search Engines have very specific ways they like to see links created. Search Engine Optimization is an art form and is sometimes difficult to understand.
Backlinks are just  links in a comment or a website/blog article that points back to another website or blog. Back links are also known as inbound links but anymore just called a back link. The number of links is an indication of the popularity or importance of your website/blog. Google will give more credit to websites that have a good amount of quality backlinks.

Search Engines consider the quality as well as the quantity of the backlinks when deciding where to rank the website/blog, so one should not be satisfied with merely getting backlinks. It is the quality of the backlink that matters. Google and others engines watch for content vs. content to make sure your links are relevant. Back links that are not relevant to your blog content are virtually useless as far as the search engines are concerned. The higher the relevance of your back link content , the more relevant the Search Engines see those links and the higher your ranking will be.

How to use SEO

For example, if a webmaster has a website about how to build a house and you received a backlink from another website about building houses, that would be more relevant in a search engine’s assessment than say a link from a site about gardening. The more relevant the site is that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the backlink. So you see, search engine optimization really is an art form all its own.
Search engines are very hesitate when your backlinks all come at once. They would much rather see them build slowly. While it is pretty easy to manipulate the links on a blog post to try to achieve a higher ranking, it is a lot harder to influence a search engine with external backlinks from another persons website/blog. This is also why backlinks are so important to the search engine’s ranking algorithm. As time goes by, it will get tougher to try to manipulate the search engines with backlinks. Link farms, are considered black hat and will get you banned from Google.
Another reason to achieve quality links is to get new visitors coming to your website. You cannot  build a blog, and then expect  people will find it without you pointing the way. You will probably have to get the word out there about your site. One way webmasters got the word out used to be through reciprocal linking, but reciprocal linking no longer works very well.
There has been a lot of discussion in these last few months about reciprocal linking. Many of the reciprocal links were not relevant to the blog they were linking to, so Google  just ignored them. So while the relevant inbound link was ignored, the outbound links still got counted, diluting the relevancy score of many websites. This caused a great many websites to drop off the Google map. Not a very good scenario.
Many webmasters have more than one website. Sometimes these websites are related, sometimes they are not. You have to also be careful about interlinking multiple websites on the same IP address. If you were to own seven related websites, then place a link to each of those websites on a page, you will hurt your ranking because it looks to the search engine like you are trying to outsmart their algorithm by what is called link bombing. One thing is for sure, linking sites together doesn’t help you from a search engine standpoint. The only reason you may want to interlink your sites in the first place might be to provide your visitors with extra resources to visit. Here, it would probably be okay to provide visitors with a link to another of your websites, but keep the instances very low or your site will pay the price.

If you’ve ever read anything about or studied Search Engine Optimization, you’ve come across the term “backlink” at least once. Do you know why links are important? The reason is actually simple. They show the Search Engines that your site is relevant. They are some of the main techniques to good SEO.

Search Engines have very specific ways that they like to see links created.  Linking from a comment or a website/blog article that points back to another website or blog is accepted as good SEO. The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of your website.

As I stated above, Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality links. Search Engines consider the amount as well as the quality of the backlinks when deciding where to rank the website/blog. One should not be satisfied with merely getting links back to your site, it is the quality of the backlink that matters.
